     The funeral service for Jessie Sidney Punneo, age 83, will be at 2:30 PM Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Pat Sutherlin officiating.

      Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. 

     He was born to Novy and Rosie (Copley) Punneo on September 1, 1926, in Duncan, and died Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Greenbrier Nursing Home in Enid.

     Sid grew up in Duncan.  He served in the United States Navy stationed at Okinawa, Japan.  Sid married Lola Weatherly on August 10, 1946, and they had two children.  He later married Betty Smith on December 21, 1992, in Gainesville, Texas.  He owned and operated Sid’s Glass Shop in Enid from 1979 until his retirement in 1997.  He was a former member of Bible Baptist Church.

     He is survived by his wife Betty of the home; one son David Punneo and wife Thela of Enid; one daughter Lanell Hosmer and husband Douglas of Big Canoe, GA; two stepsons Terry Goodpasture and wife Donna and Gary Goodpasture and wife Belinda, all of Enid; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by three brothers, A.J., Noverl, and Gladyness; and two sisters Lucy Shults and Mildred Browder.

     Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Greenbrier Rogers Home Activity Fund.
