funeral service for
Ralph Eugene Eddington,
age 82, will be at 2:00
P.M. Friday, August 31,
2007 at the
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home Chapel.
Burial will be in the
Enid Cemetery, with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
He was born to
Marion Paul and Hannah
Virginia (Childers)
Eddington on August 2,
1925 in Asher, Oklahoma,
and died Wednesday,
August 29, 2007, at
Integris Bass Hospital
in Enid.
He grew up in
Chickasha and attended
school there. He
served in the United
States Navy during World
War II. He was a
Seaman 1st Class and
fought in five major
battles. In 1946
he married Lenora
McFarland, and they made
their home in Enid.
They were married for
twenty years and were
the parents of three
children. On
August 15, 1970, Ralph
married Dorothy Clover,
and they made their home
in Enid. He worked
for Champlin Oil
Refinery for
thirty-seven years until
his retirement in 1975.
He was a member V.F.W.,
American Legion, Enid
Coin Club, and Enid
Men’s Bowling
Association for thirty
years. He was a
baseball coach for the
Police Athletic League
for seventeen years.
Ralph was an avid Dallas
Cowboy fan and New York
Yankee fan. His
hobbies were auto
racing, football,
baseball and restoring
antique cars.
Ralph is survived by
his wife Dorothy, of the
home; three children,
David Paul Eddington and
wife Bonnie, Sherry E.
Summers and husband
Vince, and Ginger Gober
and husband Robert,
all of Enid; many
grandchildren and
great-grandchildren;
three step-children,
Jack Clover and wife
Cindy of Carmen, Connie
Woolman and husband
Butch of Nacoma, TX, and
Wanda Dempewolf and
husband Jim of
Blanchard; and
daughter-in-law, Joyce
Clover of Jefferson, OK
He was preceded in
death by his parents and
step-son Donald Clover.
Memorials may be
made through the funeral
home to Cal Farley boys
Ranch or Enid Salvation
Army.
