A funeral for RhoDonna Florence Nelson, 70, of Carrier, will be at 2:00 p.m.Wednesday July 30, 2008 at the Carrier Congregational Church, with Rev. Stanley Jenkins officiating.  Burial will follow in Karoma Cemetery at Goltry, under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. 

            RhoDonna was born to Elgin and Florence (Ward) Selby on June 5, 1938 in Goltry and died  Saturday, July 26, 2008, in Enid.

             RhoDonna graduated school in Goltry, and then she attended Business College in Enid.  On January 28, 1957 she married George Nelson in Enid at the Bible Baptist Church.  They made their home in Carrier where she raised her family, and helped with the farming and custom cutting.  She was known for her flower gardens, especially her roses.  RhoDonna was a long-time member of the Carrier Congregational Church. 

             “Mammy” was the heart of the family, and she will be remembered and missed always.  She is survived by her husband George, of the home; three sons, Jon Nelson of Breckenridge, Rick Nelson and wife Tammie of Enid, and  Les Nelson and wife Sherri of Carrier; one daughter Darla Jankey and husband John of Enid; seven grandchildren, Lacie Jankey, Miranda Jankey, Jesse Nelson and wife Maria, Nichole Nelson, Ryan Nelson, Crystal Engler and husband Jeremy, and Kody Dirickson; 5 great-grandchildren, Hannah Nelson, Brooklyn Nelson, Elijah Nelson, Daniel Nelson, and Paisley Engler;  two brothers Lee Selby of Goltry, and Leonard Selby of Washington; two sisters Laveta Koehn of Colorado, and Renetta McAlister of Goltry.

             RhoDonna was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter in law Phyllis Nelson.
