A memorial service for Robert “Bob” Allen Ives, 62 of Enid, will be Friday, Feb.  22, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in the Anderson-Burris Chapel with the Reverend Jim Harvey officiating.  A graveside memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 in the Fairmont Cemetery, Follett, Texas.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Bob was born on April 18, 1945 in Follett, Texas to Ralph Fletcher and Margie Beatrice (Fincher) Ives and died on February 18, 2008 in Enid. 

He grew up in Follett and graduated from Follett High School.   Bob served in the U.S. Marines from 1967 until 1973.   On December 23, 1986, he married Carol Blood in Lipscomb County, Texas.  They made their home in Waukomis.  Bob was an avid Nascar fan, loved playing golf and going to the coffee shop with his cronies.  He was a trucker and loved his truck.  Bob was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.  He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, and his family was everything to him.  Bob and Carol moved to Enid in 2007.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ray; one sister, Ellen Garis, and one nephew, Ralph Garis.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Carol of the home; his five children and their spouses, James and UnSuk Ives of Colorado, Angela and Jim Chodrick of Enid, Robyn and Brandon Choate of Hennessy, Kiley and Elaina Ives of Weatherford, and Keri and John Ratliff of Enid; nine grandchildren; one brother and his wife, Jess and Mary Ives of Follett, TX; and many other relatives and friends. 

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Amedisys Home Health or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
