Cemetery: Memorial Park Cemetery (Enid, OK.)

            The funeral service for Robert Eugene Turner, age 81, will be at 2:00 P.M.  Monday,  May 19, 2008, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel,  with  Pastor Les Washnock officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.

            Robert was born to William H. and Mabel (Robinson) Turner on June 15, 1926 in Enid, and died on May 15, 2008 in Enid.

            Robert graduated from Kremlin High School and began farming, which he continued to do along with other occupations for the remainder of his life.   He married Betty Lou Sharkey on December 21, 1947 in Pond Creek.  In 1951 he began working in the oil field, and in 1966 he started working for the Railroad in Oklahoma.  He retired from the Railroad in 1991.  Robert enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing, but his favorite pastime was trains and spending time at the Railroad museum.        

            Robert is survived by his wife Betty of the home; four children, Roberta Gibson of Texas, Betty Chamberlain and husband Joe of Luther, Linda Eidd of Texas, and Robert Turner, Jr., of Texas; nine Grandchildren, and ten Great-grandchildren.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Frances Crow, a brother Tom Turner, two half-brothers, and one half sister.

            Memorials may be made through the funeral home to OMRF - Cancer Division or the Railroad Museum of Oklahoma.
