            The funeral service for Robert Hughes Tefft, age 88, will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Stanley Jenkins officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

            He was born to Lloyd Edmond and Caroline Anna (Hughes) Tefft on December 28, 1918 in Enid, and died Sunday, December 9, 2007, in Enid.

            Robert attended school at Spring Valley and Enid before graduating from Carrier High School.  He then attended Oklahoma A & M.   On July 18, 1940, he married Catharine Turner in Kingfisher, and they made their home in Enid.  Robert served in the United States Army during World War II, and was stationed at Ft. Knox.  After his service, he returned to Enid and worked for Gold Spot Dairy for a time.  He then worked at Champlin Refinery in the motor lab until his retirement in the late 70’s.  He also farmed part-time.  He served on the Carrier School Board and was a member of Grace Bible Church, Enid Noon Lions, and American Legion.

            He is survived by three daughters, Roberta Haskit and husband Joe of Enid, Ann Catharine Watkins and husband Ron of Enid, and Susan Kay Roe and husband Tony of Crawfordsville, Indiana; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother Charles Wayne Tefft and wife Donna of Hunter.

            He was preceded in death by his wife Catharine, and two brothers Edmond and Elmer Tefft.

            Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
