A funeral service for Robert Nicholas “Nick” Burton, age 55, will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Neal Prock officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

            Nick was born to James Robert “Bob” and Marvene (Butler) Burton on Feb. 5, 1952, in Okla. City, and went to be with Jesus suddenly on Feb. 9, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid.

            He graduated from Enid High School in 1970.  Nick worked for his father in Hennessey for 28 years at Independent Service Company.  For the last 5 years he was employed at Longhorn Service/PPS in Fairview.  Nick married Karen Johnson on July 25, 1981 in Enid.

            Nick had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good spirited debate.  He also enjoyed listening to good music and loved spending time at home with his family and his beloved dogs Wilson and Sadie.

            In addition to Karen, his wife of 26 years, Nick is survived by his children; Andrea Burton Davis and husband Chad and their children Jacob, Tyler, Ali and Zachary of Round Hill, VA; Nicholas Burton and wife Candice and their son Nicholas James of Durant, OK; Ronnie Decker and son Parker of Enid; Rhonda Decker of Altus, OK; Toby Smith and daughters Shaylon and Britney of Enid; Kayla, Tasha, Kara and Patti Burton, all of the home; his mother Marvene Burton and sister Janet McGinnus and her daughter Melissa, all of Enid; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many others who loved him like family.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

            He was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Burton.

            Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Nick Burton’s Children Fund.
