The funeral service for Kristy Kay Shafer, 49, will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Kenneth Wade officiating.  Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Fairmont.  Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

   She was born to Jack Dean and Idalene Julia (Harland ) McVicker on Jan. 5, 1960, in Enid, and died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Integris Bass Baptist Medical Center in Enid.

   Kristy grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School.  She worked as a nurse’s aide and in medical records at Enid Memorial Hospital.  She was currently employed at Integris Bass Baptist Medical Center as a coder in the Emergency Department.  Kristy was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

   She is survived by her daughter, Nikki Kay Juhnke and husband Brent of Enid; two grandchildren, Leah and Ashton Juhnke of Enid; sister Debbie Majors and husband Larry of Enid; niece Kelli Ratzlaff of Enid; and great nieces Paige and Kelsey Ratzlaff of Enid.

   Kristy was preceded in death by her parents and grandmother.
