memorial service for
Dora Ann Tait, age 72,
of Enid, will be at 2:00
P.M. Friday July 17,
2009 at the
family home of Frank and
Laura. Cremation
arrangements are by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
She was born to
Leonadis and Hazel (LaPratt)
Humes on November 25,
1936, in Caro, Michigan,
and died Thursday, July
9, 2009, at her home in
Enid after her third
battle with cancer.
Dora grew up in Caro,
MI, and attended school
there. She married J.D.
Tait in Michigan, in
June of 1972, and they
made their home in Caro,
MI. They moved to
Oklahoma in 1981. From
1986 to 1993, she worked
at Oklahoma University
in the kitchen at the
campus hospital, and at
The Common’s
Restaurant. Dora and
J.D. owned the 40 and Up
Club in Noble, and a
golf and country club in
Caro, MI. She moved to
Enid in 2002.
She is survived by
four children, Laura Lee
Botkin of Enid, Ranee
Agent of Norman, Terry
Osentoski of Michigan,
and Randy Tait of
Wisconsin; thirteen
grandchildren; fifteen
great-grandchildren;
three brothers, Lloyd J.
Humes, Gene Humes and
Leon Humes, all of
Michigan; and one
sister, Onalee Thicke,
of Michigan.
Dora was preceded in
death by her husband J.D,
parents, three children,
and one sister.
Memorials may be made to
the funeral home in
Dora’s name.
