Cemetery: Memorial Park Cemetery (Enid, OK.)

            A funeral service for Thomas David Groom, age 61 of Enid will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday January 9, 2007, at the First Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Dan Barrick, and Pastor Marilyn Murray officiating.  Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.  Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

            Dave was born on October 20, 1945 in Wills Point, Texas to J. D. and Vivian (Moore) Groom, and died on Saturday January 6, 2007 in Enid.

            Dave received his Bachelors of Science degree from Southwestern Assembly of God College, in Waxahachie, Texas.  He also served in the United States Air Force.  On March 28, 1970 he married Shirley Ann Sullivan at the Spaulding Gardens Assembly of God Church in Enid, Oklahoma.  Dave was a salesman for Hughes Lumber Company for twenty-seven years.  He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church where he was active in Royal Rangers, and also as a Sunday School Teacher. 

            Dave is survived by his wife Shirley of the home; 2 sons, Jon Groom and wife Katrina, and Josh Groom, all of Enid; 3 brothers, Charles Groom and wife Tommi of Massillon, Ohio, and Ron Groom and wife Judy, of Canton,Ohio, and Jerry Groom and wife June of Huntsville, Tx; 3 sisters, Shirley McClosky and husband Jerry of Frisco, Tx., Elsie McManus and husband Mike of Eustace, Tx., and Barbara Dumas and husband Clyde of Whitney, Tx.; and several nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by his parents J. D. and Vivian Groom.

            Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the First Assembly of God Church.
