The funeral service for Thomas “Loyal” George, age 87, will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 12, 2007, at First Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Dan Barrick, Rev. Robert Florence and Rev. Ron McCaslin officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.  Visitation with the family will be Sunday evening from 5:00 to 6:30 PM at the funeral home.

He was born to Thomas A. and Mae (Haggard) George on September 22, 1920, in Helena, and passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2007, at Golden Oaks Retirement Village in Enid.

He graduated from Red Rock High School, and then earned an Associate Degree from Southwestern Bible College.  He later attended John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.  On June 28, 1944, he married Marie E. Stutchman in Alex, Arkansas.  Loyal served in the United States Army during World War II in the Philippines.  He was a Purchasing Agent for Union Equity until his retirement.  He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, where he served as a board member, Sunday School Superintendent, and Sunday School teacher for many years.  He was also on the building committee, and served as supervisor for the construction of the family center.  Loyal was also a member of Enid Garden Club.

Loyal is survived by his wife Marie of the home; daughter Sharon Christian and husband Clyde of Springdale, Arkansas; two sons David George and wife Louise of El Reno and Daniel George and wife Cheryl of Ardmore; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother Delbert George of Pawnee.

He was preceded in death by brother Del Ray George and sister Geneva George.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Assembly of God Church Scholarship Fund.
