A funeral service for
Thomas “Tommy” Sowles,
age 65, will be at 11:00
A.M. Tuesday, June 12,
2007, at the
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home Chapel, with Rev.
Sherry Shaw officiating.
Arrangements are by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home and Crematory.
Visitation with the
family will be Monday
evening from 6:30 to
8:00 P.M. at the funeral
home.
He was born
to Marion Taylor and
Ruth Irene (Swanson)
Sowles on April 9, 1942,
in Enid, and died
Sunday, June 10, 2007,
at his home in Enid.
Tommy grew up
in Enid, graduating from
Enid High School in
1960. He
served in the United
States Air Force for
four years.
He then served in the
Army National Guard,
retiring after twenty
years. On April
29, 1967, he married
Edna M. Fenton in
Shiloh, Illinois, and
they made their home in
Hunter for twenty-four
years. They moved
to Enid in 1996.
He worked for the United
States Postal Service
for thirty-four years
until his retirement in
2003. Tommy bowled
on several bowling
leagues.
He is
survived by his wife
Edna of the home; two
daughters, April Sowles
of Owasso, and Glenda
Crow of Enid; two sons,
Thomas Smith of Enid and
Tim Foster of Pensacola,
Florida; eleven
grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by his
brother Bobby Gene
Sowles and sister Irene
E. Fuller.
Memorials may
be made through the
funeral home to Hospice
Circle of Love.
