A graveside
memorial service for
Troy Ray McVicker, age
86, of Enid, will be at
11:00 A.M. Thursday,
June 19, 2008, at the
Hennessey Cemetery, with
Pastor Steve Meier
officiating. Cremation
arrangements are by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home and Crematory.
He was born
to Ralph and Lillie Mae
(Lee) McVicker on
October 13, 1921, in
Hennessey, and died
Monday, June 16, 2008,
at Integris Bass Baptist
Hospital in Enid.
Troy grew up
in the Hennessey and
Lamont area. He served
in the United States
Coast Guard during World
War II. On August 31,
1946, he married Mary
Ruth Caudell in Sedan,
Kansas, and they made
their home in Sand
Springs. He was
employed as a welder for
Phillips and traveled
with his job. In 1964,
he moved from Odessa, TX
to Enid., and retired
in the mid 1980’s. He
enjoyed trout fishing.
He is
survived by his wife,
Mary Ruth of the home;
two daughters, Donna
Simunek and husband
Cletus of Oklahoma City,
and Sherri Ross and
husband Mike of Enid;
three grandchildren;
five
great-grandchildren; two
brothers, Eldon McVicker
of Sand Springs, and
Jerry McVicker of
Cleveland, OK; and one
sister, Lola Goodhue of
Enid.
Troy was
preceded in death by his
parents, and brother
Leland.
