The funeral service for Melva A. Vaughan, age 82, will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Evangel Assembly of God Church.  Burial will be in the Hennessey Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.  Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home.

     She was born to Henry Orson and Martha Fern (Adams) Maloney on July 20, 1927, in Goltry, and died on Monday July 5, 2010, in Enid.

     Melva graduated from Hennessey High School and attended Phillips University studying nursing.  She worked at the University Hospital in Enid as a C.N.A.  On July 3, 1946 she married Chester “Pat” Vaughan, and eight children were born to this union. Melva was a licensed Assembly of God Minister for fifty years.  She was a member of the Evangel Assembly of God Church.

     She is survived by six children Patsy Streller of Perry, Tim Vaughan of Perry, John Vaughan of Enid, Kathy Smith of Lucien, Andy Vaughan of Westland, MI, and Mark Vaughan of DeKalb, TX; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren.

     Melva was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Pat Vaughan on May 14, 2008, daughter Sharon Ann Vaughan in 1960, and son Mike Vaughan in 1993.
