A Memorial
Service for Virginia
Maxine Starkey Wickham,
age 81, of Oklahoma
City, formerly of Enid,
will be at 2:00 P.M.
Saturday, March 1, 2008,
at First United
Methodist Church, with
Rev. Susan Southall
officiating. Burial
will follow in Memorial
Park Cemetery, with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. Visitation with
the family will be from
1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the
church prior to the
service.
She was born
to Vernon Crotty and
Henrietta (Mark)
Kilpatrick on April 30,
1926, in Augusta,
Kansas, and died
Wednesday February 27,
2008, in Oklahoma City.
She
graduated from
Ellinwood, Kansas High
School, and then
attended Salt City
Business College in
Hutchinson, Kansas.
Virginia worked for
Union Equity until her
retirement in 1988. On
August 25, 1989, she
married Stanley Wickham
in Enid. She was a
member of ABWA, Desk &
Derrick, National
Secretarial Association,
and the Christian Church
of the Covenant prior to
moving to Bella Vista,
Arkansas in 1990. She
moved back to Enid in
2003, and was a member
of First United
Methodist Church. In
2004, she moved to
Oklahoma City to be near
her daughter.
She is
survived by her
daughter, Judy Seymour
and husband Terry of
Oklahoma City; son
Michael Cutting and wife
Carla of Portland,
Maine; stepdaughter
Cheryl Boyer and husband
Fred of Enid; sister Pat
Rasmussen and husband
Ray of Lincoln, Kansas;
sister-in-law Matty
Kilpatrick of Walnut
Creek, California; four
grandchildren; two
nieces; and five
nephews.
Virginia was
preceded in death by her
parents, husband Jesse
Starkey in 1974, husband
Stanley Wickham, Sr. in
2003; and brother Donald
Kilpatrick.
Memorials
may be made through the
funeral home to Oklahoma
Medical Research
Foundation – Cancer
Division.
