The funeral service for
Robert “Bob” Vern
Wagner, age 83, will be
at 10:00 A.M. Friday,
March 5, 2010, at
Emmanuel Baptist Church,
with Pastor Wade
Burleson officiating.
A private family burial
will be in Memorial Park
Cemetery, with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home. A visitation
for family and friends
will be Thursday evening
from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at
the funeral home.
He was born to Vern
and Lillie Ann (Hodson)
Wagner on May 17, 1926,
in Louisville, Colorado,
and died Monday, March
1, 2010 at St. Mary’s
Regional Hospital in
Enid.
Bob grew up in
Oklahoma City, Clinton
and Stafford, KS where
he graduated from
Stafford High School in
1944. At age eighteen
he began his service in
the U.S. Navy in the
submarine division. Bob
served in World War II
and Korean War. In 1952
he graduated from
Wichita State University
and went to work for
Baker Manufacturing in
Fort Dodge, Iowa as a
salesman. There he met
and married Shirley
Kreimar on Oct. 31,
1953. From 1954 – 1957
he was a manufacturer
rep and traveled in
Iowa, Nebraska and St.
Louis, Missouri. In
1958, Bob and family
moved to Enid, where he
joined his father in the
plumbing and heating
business known as Vern
Wagner Supply, and later
known as Winnelson. He
was a member of Emmanuel
Baptist Church and
Gideons. Bob loved golf
and was past president
of the Meadowlake Men’s
Association.
Bob is survived by
Shirley, his wife of 56
years; four children,
Chad Wagner and wife
Mary Jane of Acton,
Mass., Kristie Burr and
husband Charles of
Weatherford, Robin
Hiebert and husband Rex
of Meno, and Todd Wagner
and wife Lorie of
Gentry, Ark,; sister
JoAnn Fischer of
Danville, KY.; thirteen
grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by his parents,
and sister Nancy
Crowley.
Memorials may be made
through the funeral home
to the Gideons.
