             A funeral service for Wayne Allen Mitchell, age 59, will be at 2:00pm Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the First Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Dan Barrick officiating. Burial will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery at Elgin, Oklahoma at 1:00pm on Monday. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

            Wayne was born to Woodrow and Emma (Rossander) Mitchell on January 3, 1947, in Stillwater, and died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 at his home in Enid.

            Wayne grew up in Oklahoma City, graduating from Putnam City High School. He then graduated form Central State University in Edmond. He served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. On April 7, 1972, he married Nancy Gallagher in Yukon. They lived overseas for two years, wile Wayne worked in offshore drilling. They moved to Tulsa in 1977, where he sold drilling rigs. In 1989, they moved to Dallas where he worked in the roofing and construction business. They moved to Enid in 1993, and Wayne owned and operated Durco Roofing Company. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, and a lifetime member of the American Rifleman Association.

            Wayne is survived by his wife Nancy of the home; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Ruby Gallagher of Marlow; his godchildren, Shane, Lisa and Alivia Olsen, Shaun and Angela Olsen, and Kristen Olsen; tow brothers, Earl Mitchell and wife Dixie Mitchell of Tuttle, and Raymond Mitchell of Yukon; and one sister Helen McCraw and husband Marland of Oklahoma City.

            He was preceded in death by his parents.
