A memorial service for
Wayne F. Coffin, age 79,
will be at 2:00
P.M. Monday, December
18, 2006, at the Hoover
Building, with James
Hays officiating.
Cremation arrangements
are by Anderson-Burris
Funeral Home and
Crematory. There
will be no viewing or
visitation at the
funeral home. The
memorial book will be
available for signing at
the memorial service.
He was born
to Robert James and
Bernice Marie (Lebo)
Coffin on June 4, 1927
in Forgan, Oklahoma, and
died Friday, December
15, 2006, at St. Mary’s
Health Center in Enid.
Wayne grew up
in Forgan, OK, Great
Bend, KS, and
Minneola, KS, and
attended high school in
Bloom, KS. On June
4, 1950, he married
Barbara “Joan”
Buckhannan in Minneola.
They resided in Great
Bend and Minneola before
transferring to
Mooreland, OK in 1959,
where he worked for
Natural Gas Pipeline
Company of America as a
Gas Measurement Tech
until his retirement in
1985. They moved
to Enid in 1987.
He was a cowboy, and
enjoyed cattle and
horses, as well as
gardening.
He is
survived by his wife
Joan of the home; one
daughter Vicki Coffin
Lunday and husband Neal
of Rush Springs, OK,
three sons, Wayne Lynn
Coffin of Fairview,
Larry Eugene Coffin and
wife Benita of
Mooreland, and Galen Lee
Coffin and wife Kristi
of Enid; twelve
grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by his
parents, one brother
Robert James Coffin, and
infant sister.
