      A funeral service for Johnnie Dean Wellman, 69, of Kremlin, will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday September 11, 2009, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Captain Randy Sellers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with full military rites by Silver Talon Honor Guard.  Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.  The casket will remain open until service time.

     Johnnie was born on March 21, 1940 to Wilbur D. and Dorothy Fern (Smith) Wellman in Ft. Supply, Oklahoma, and died on Sunday September 6, 2009 at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid.

     He grew up in Booker, Texas.  On January 18, 1958 he married Patricia L. Baker in Booker, Texas.  On February 3, 1959 he entered the United States Air Force and served until February 28, 1979.  While in the service they lived in Sparks, Nevada, Shreveport Louisiana, Panama City, Florida, England, and Okinawa Japan.  He served for two tours in Vietnam.  In 1973 they moved to Enid when they were transferred to Vance Air Force Base.  Johnnie retired in 1979 and they moved to Kremlin. He enjoyed fishing and was a huge fan of OSU football.

     He is survived by two daughters, Debbie McEachern and husband Don of Bison, and Pam Pettigrew and husband Jeff of Perry; one son, Johnny Wellman and wife Sherri of Mountain Home, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one brother Frankie Wellman and wife Thersa of Woodward; three sisters Rose Alexander of Woodward, Wanda Davis and husband Richard of Clyde, Texas, and Lue Lantelma and husband Jerry of Woodward; and several nieces and nephews. 

     Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Patricia.  Memorial may be made through the funeral home to charity of your choice
