A graveside service for
William “Bill” Darrell
Clifton, age 71, will be
at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday,
May 29, 2007, at the
Enid Cemetery Chapel,
with Rev. Alvin Dalton
officiating. Full
military honors will be
presented by Vance Air
Force Silver Talon Honor
Guard.
Arrangements are by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
He was born
to Charles Joe King
Cliftonand Anna Birdie
Clifton on June 5, 1935,
in Enid, and died
Thursday, May 24, 2007,
at his home in Enid.
Bill grew up
in Enid, and was in the
U.S. Navy for two years.
He then joined the U.S.
Air Force and served for
over nineteen years,
both in Korea and Viet
Nam. He was also
stationed in Japan,
Alaska, Denver, and
Arkansas, and then
retired from Vance Air
Force Base. He
worked as an insurance
agent for M.F.A.
Insurance, and was a
district supervisor for
Rainbow Rex Air.
He was a graduate of The
University of Alaska
with a degree in
Psychology. Bill
was a private pilot, and
worked as a bush pilot
in Alaska. He
married Barbara Ann
Hutchinson, and they
made their home in Enid.
He enjoyed woodworking
and welding.
He is
survived by his wife
Barbara of the home;
three daughters, Tayonie
Clifton and husband
William Harris of
Abilene, TX, Tina
Clifton of Enid, and
Teria Ann Frank and
husband Reyn of
Stillwater; twelve
grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; one
brother Arthur Parrish
and wife Tresa of
Commerce City, CO; his
pet “Rambo”; and several
nieces and nephews.
Bill was
preceded in death by his
parents, son Randy
Clifton, granddaughter
Sandi Witt, two sisters
and three brothers.
Memorials may
be made through the
funeral home to Hospice
Circle of Love.
