The funeral service for
Opal J. Woodring, age
85, will be at 2:00 PM
Wednesday, September 23,
2009, at Anderson-Burris
Funeral Home Chapel,
with Rev. Steve Williams
officiating.
Burial will be in
Bethany Cemetery, with
arrangements by
Anderson-Burris Funeral
Home.
She was born to
Jim C. and Mary (Carrell)
Isham on August 18,
1924, in Garland,
Arkansas, and died
Saturday, September 19,
2009, at the Methodist
Home in Enid.
She grew up in
Arkansas and attended
school in Sallisaw. In
1965, she married
Clarence E. Woodring in
Poteau, and they made
their home in New
Mexico. She previously
lived in Colorado,
Florida and Tulsa. Opal
worked as a wool presser
in the dry cleaner
business and also cooked
at an elementary school
cafeteria. In 2003, she
moved to Enid and has
lived at the Methodist
Home for the last five
years. She enjoyed
family gatherings,
especially Thanksgiving
and Christmas, reading
her Bible, fishing, and
being with people.
She is survived
by her two sons, Donald
Perry and wife Brenda of
Enid, H.D. Perry and
wife Marsha of Roland,
OK; and one daughter
Levada Galation of Gore;
seven grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren; one
brother James C. Isham
of Ft. Smith, ARK; and
four sisters, Doris
Harding of Muldrow,
Marie Martin, Dorothy
Rider, and Shirley
Harding, all of
Sallisaw.
Opal was
preceded in death by her
parents, Jim and Mary
Isham; her husband
Clarence; grandson Jimmy
Don Perry; son-in-law
Danny Galation; and
brother W.T. Isham.
Memorials may be made
through the funeral home
to Hospice Circle of
Love or O.M.R.F. –
Alzheimers Division.
