Clarabelle Buller

Henry and Eva Eck welcomed their 10th child into their home on Tuesday, June 6, 1922. Clarabelle was born on the family farm northwest of Meno, Oklahoma and grew up with 11 siblings. She attended Cozy Palace, a small county school which is now the red Glenwood School in Enid. Clarabelle attended Mennonite churches throughout her life and accepted Jesus as her Savior early in her childhood. Rev. H. U. Schmidt baptized her into faith in May 1939. Crosspoint Church was her house of worship during her senior adult years. June 14, 1942 was the wedding date for Henry and Clarabelle. They spent the first month of marriage on a farm south of Fairview. She then became a soldier's wife and followed Henry from base to base. They lived in Wichita Falls, Texas, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Fort Worth, Texas. Henry was deployed to the India, China, and Burma Theater for the duration of WWII. They were separated by thousands of miles. At the end of the war, they farmed in the Meno and Lahoma area for 10 years. The family then moved to Enid. Clarabelle found joy in her marriage, family, and church. Quilting was her passion, and her artistic ability enhanced many homes with the beauty of her creations. She designed and pieced 45+ quilts for the Central Mennonite Committee auctions held annually in Fairview and then Enid. Her children and grandchildren have been blessed with her generous gifts of time and talent displayed in comforters and quilts. Wednesday mornings were a time reserved for fellowship with the Friendship Quilters. She greatly anticipated that time of involvement with her friends of kindred spirit. James and Judy Buller, Vergil and Kay Esau and Donald and Rebecca Buller are her children. Grandchildren are Greg and Latonya Esau, Tim and Suzanne Buller, Colby and Julie Stull, David and Sabrina Buller and Sarah Buller Rader. Her great grandchildren are Kylie Buller Heckenlively and Haley Buller, Henry and Kate Stull, Aerily Esau and Addison and Ryan Rader. Henry, Clarabelle’s husband of 74 years, will greet her in heaven. Seven sisters, Myrtle Smith, Susanna Eck, Irene Becker, Eva Koehn, Katherine Luscombe, Mabel Buller, Ella Frantz and three brothers, Harry, Lafey, and Roy will all meet her in glory, as will infant grandson, Andrew James Buller. Daughter-in-law Lyndel Haynes Buller preceded her. Her youngest brother, Lindy Eck is her remaining sibling. Clarabelle leaves a legacy of faith in Jesus Christ. Her family is grateful. Memorials in Clarabelle's honor can be made to Crosspoint Church in Enid and Evangelical Mission Ministries in Eagle Lake, Florida. A service to celebrate Clarabelle’s life will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Anderson–Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
