Joseph Lynn Allen

Joseph Lynn Allen went to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of Sunday, October 24, 2021. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 29 at 10:00 AM at Anderson Burris Funeral Home Chapel in Enid, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Del Norte Cemetery in Drummond, Oklahoma. Online condolences at www.andersonburris.com. Joseph (Joe) was born on July 26, 1939 in Sharon, Oklahoma to William and Anna Belle (Austin) Allen. Joe married his beloved wife Connie (Dowers) Allen on April 20, 1968 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Joe attended First United Methodist Church in Enid Oklahoma and later First United Methodist Church in Arlington Texas. Joe served in the Army Reserve and went on to begin his life-long career as an accountant for Champlin Oil Company in Enid, Oklahoma which later was purchased by Union Pacific Resources in Fort Worth, Texas. The purchase of Champlin led Joe and Connie and children to move to Texas, where Joe remained enjoying an active life with Connie by his side in Arlington Texas. Joe retired from Union Pacific Resources and as a man who loved to keep his mind sharp, he became a contract accountant for Quicksilver Resources. His love of traveling to see family and his hobbies of estate sale hunting and restoring antique furniture became his daily focus. Mowing his vast yard, taking 2.5 mile walks 2-3 times per week, and relishing in time spent with his family especially time with his two grandsons were what people think of when speaking of him. Joe was always up and on is feet ready to help a neighbor at a moment's notice chasing away snakes, mending fences and pet-sitting. Joe and Connie continued to enjoy monthly luncheons with his fellow retiree friends and their wives from Champlin/UPR right up to the month before his entry to Heaven. Faithful friends for well over 40 years are a treasured gift who Joe and Connie love and are loved by. Joe is survived by his wife Connie, son Justin Allen, Daughter Jenni Allen, Son-in-Law Joe Allen (yes, you read that correctly) and his adored grandsons, Alexander Allen and Reagan Allen. Sisters Judy Prewett and Kay Allen and numerous nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces. Joe was reunited in Heaven with his dad William J Allen, Mom Anna Belle Allen and his youngest sister Gayla McWilliams. While we feel the loss here on Earth, we rest on the promises of our Heavenly Father and know we will see our husband, dad, grandpa, friend again one day.
