April 15, 1971 - August 13, 2021
Beverly Jo Overstreet was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on April 15, 1971, to Kim R. and Cheryl A. Overstreet. Beverly graduated from Pioneer High School in 1989 before heading to Oklahoma State University for her freshman year. The following year she enrolled at the University of Oklahoma where, in 1995, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Throughout her college career, Beverly served her country in the Army Reserves. After graduation, Beverly traveled the United States as a traveling Nurse for ten years, a wound care nurse specializing in Hyperbaric Medicine for six years, before pursuing her Masters of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2016, she received her Master of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in adult gerontology. Upon completion of her certification, Beverly moved to Colorado where she oversaw multiple long-term care facilities. As an avid traveler and adventure seeker, Beverly traveled the world and pushed others to step outside their comfort zone. Always a planner, she kept her bucket list close by and fulfilled the majority of her goals in life. Beverly lived each moment to its fullest and was always planning for her next great adventure. She loved “forest bathing” and would hike regularly to clear her head and soak up the beauty around her. Beverly’s love for nature led her to honor her patients by planting a tree in their memory upon their passing. It is in that spirit, that in lieu of flowers, we encourage you to plant a tree in Beverly’s memory at https://www.alivingtribute.org. Beverly passed away surrounded by her family on Aug 13, 2021 . Survivors include her parents, Kim and Cheryl Overstreet of Enid, Oklahoma: her brother and spouse, Richard Overstreet and Miho Takahashi-Overstreet of Danvers, Massachusetts; her sister and family, Matt and Rachel (Overstreet) Babcock, and nieces Kelsey and Kayla of Hutchinson, Kansas. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug 20, 2021 at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home in Enid, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love, Enid, Oklahoma.
