Dickie Lee Parker

January 26, 1942 - April 22, 2021

Dickie Lee Parker, 79 of Garber passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 22, 2021. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. On January 26, 1942 Dickie was born to Charlie and Donna (Smith) Parker. Dickie graduated from Garber High School. On April 4, 1968 he married his beloved Linda Brawner at her parents home in Enid, and they were married for 53 years. Dickie and Linda welcomed two children Deana and Kristie. As a young boy Dickie delivered the newspaper on his bicycle and mowed the football field, baseball field, and cemetery with his brother Gerald Sr. As a teen he was a mechanic’s helper and worked at the gas station, at Eby’s Garage and the Chevy Dealership, Garber. His adult career was spent working as a pumper and foreman for BHP Oil Company. He enjoyed fast cars and was onery which provided many stories he loved to tell. Dickie was a hard worker and provider. We never needed servicemen, he did it all. He also inherited the “Parker Stubbornness” as we liked to say. He definitely had his signature sayings. Not everyone knew how to take his deep gruff voice and personality. But those who did will remember it fondly. Dickie is survived by his wife Linda. Daughters, Deana Smith and husband, Randy, and Kristie Parker. Granddaughter, Marisa Word and husband, Micah. Great grandson, Jenson Word. Many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Donna Parker and brother, Gerald Parker, Sr. Memorial may be made through Anderson-Burris to Hospice Circle of Love.
