Eva Belle Heim

September 29, 1935 - March 27, 2022

God needed an extraordinary person to make others feel special, so He sent Eva Belle Heim into this world on September 29, 1935. For 86 years, Eva made every person who crossed her path feel loved and important through her kind words and thoughtful deeds until her Heavenly Father called her home on March 27, 2022. At the age of 17, Eva married the love of her life, Kenneth L. Heim and they continued their love story for almost 69 years with faith, family and friends as the foundation for their marriage. They grew their family with two daughters, Teresa Caraway, PhD and Michelle Fox, RN. A devoted stay-at-home mom, she never missed any activity of the girls - sitting through twirling competitions, drill team and cheerleading activities, school assemblies, theater performances and perspiring gracefully in 100-degree weather at softball games. As empty nesters, Eva and Ken added to their grand love story by hitting the road and traveling in their motor home for 15 years. Eva never met a stranger and together she and Ken met new friends wherever they went. During this season of life, Eva took great joy in spending time with her 5 grandchildren: Taylor and Carson Caraway and Carrington, Kensley and Holton Fox. From the moment each grandchild was born, she journaled what they said and did culminating in writing two books as gifts to them and their parents. A 21 year project, she presented the book “The Things Your Children Said and Did” to Teresa, Taylor and Carson upon Carson’s college graduation. She presented her second book, “The Three Little Foxes”, a 29 year project, to Michelle and her husband Louis, Carrington, Kensley and Holton when the youngest graduated from college. These two books are treasured keepsakes of Eva’s love and devotion to her family. Eva’s care and concern for others extended outside her family through her many church and civic volunteer activities. Some of her favorite things were delivering Meals on Wheels to the elderly, volunteering with Circle of Love Hospice and visiting shut-ins from church to deliver sermon tapes. A devoted note writer throughout her life, Eva sent thousands of cards with handwritten notes making those who received them feel loved and special. Her thoughtful telephone calls and text messages to encourage or check on others were a blessing to many. A great classy lady, Eva leaves a grand legacy. She is survived by her husband Ken; daughters Teresa and Michelle and husband Louis; grandchildren Taylor; Carson and wife Christa and children Drew, Wynn and Laine, Carrington and husband Blake, Kensley and daughter Finley, and Holton and wife Sheridan. Also her brother, Don Kurtz and wife Georgia and sister Jan Smith and husband Don and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Kurtz and Gladys Kurtz and brothers Leroy and Charles (Chuck) Kurtz. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, April 1, 2022 at 10:00 am in Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, 3002 N Van Buren Street Enid, OK 73703 with Rev. Timothy Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Meyer C. and Ida Miller Hospice or the charity of your choice with Anderson-Burris serving as custodian of the funds. In lieu of flowers, the family requests honoring Eva’s life by taking time to write a note or send a card to someone who needs to know they are special and loved.
