Mary Frances Anderson

A Memorial Service for Mary Anderson, 51, of Norman, will be at 10:00 AM Friday, March 15, 2013, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Enid. Mary was born on January 12, 1962, in Shattuck to Don and Edna Steidl, and left this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Oklahoma City. Mary grew up in the Fairview area, active in athletics especially basketball, and graduated from Fairview High School. Mary was married to Monte Anderson on April 10, 1982. They built their life together in the Ringwood area. Monte and Mary had three children, Austin, Aubrey and Allie. In 1990, Monte and Mary pastored Faith Center Fellowship in Ames, Oklahoma and then moved the church to Meno in 1992. Mary and Monte were both dedicated and passionate to help others. That is why ministry was such a good fit for their lives. If someone was in need they would do their absolute best. The compassionate heart that Mary possessed has touched hundreds of lives. In October of 2000, Monte died in an automobile accident. Mary continued to live life to its fullest. She took up residence in Norman where she served that area as the cities Reader’s Choice massage therapist for five years running. In May 2012, Mary’s oldest son, Austin, died in a tragic airplane crash. Mary continued to work hard and in the midst of her endeavors, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. For four months she strived for life, amazing the heart team and staff with her feats and ability to overcome. However, the ultimate victory awaited Mary as she crossed the finish line of this earch and stepped into Heaven. Mary is preceded in death by her father Don Steidl, husband Monte Anderson, and son Austin Anderson. Mary is survived by son Aubrey Anderson; daughter Allie Anderson; sisters, Ramona Lantz and husband Clifford of Stillwater, Donna Hames and husband Ron of Norman, Liz Luginbill and husband Phil of Fairmont, Patty Meyer and husband Gary of Broken Arrow; brother John Steidl of Oklahoma City; mother Edna Parker of Fairview; nieces and nephews. Mary loved family and friends. There were those close friends who came and stayed at the hospital with Mary, for which she is forever thankful for their endearing support and love. Memorials may be made to “Mary Anderson Fund” in care of the funeral home.
